This month I received my first Boxycharm box, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I’m so excited to share it with the Pettigrew Crew, so let’s cut to the chase and jump right in.
The box is shipped in this cute little black box. It’s fun to open up my mailbox and see this “lil’ beaut” waiting for me. Unlike some other subscription boxes, there is no fancier and more dainty box inside of this one. What you see is what you get. I will say, if this is one of the ways they save costs and are able to magically only charge me $21 a month for over a $100 worth of full size beauty products, I’m not mad at ya Boxycharm! Not a bit.
The March theme for Boxycharm is Sweet Treats. I enjoy photography and themes, so I shot coordinating photos of course!
Here are the 6 Scrumptious Beauty Treats I Received in my Box:
First up is: The Makeup Geek Shimmer Eyeshadow in the color “Cosmopolitan”
This shadow is awesome! I love the metallic copper color. It’s on trend with Spring 2016 mixed metallics theme. A little goes a long way, and it goes a long way smoothly and easily. I was surprised at how quickly it blended and my eye makeup looked like it took a lot longer than it really did.
I am seriously impressed with these makeup Geek shadows. I have heard a lot about the Makeup Geek brand, but I had never tried their products, and now I’m a believer. I will definitely be purchasing more shadows from this brand in the future.
You can place these eyeshadow pans in an empty makeup pallet and make your own custom pallet.
Next up is: The Makeup Geek Matte Eyeshadow in the color “Cocoa Bear”
I love the rich brown color, and the texture is so creamy and pigmented. The shimmery “Cosmopolitan” shade can be mixed with the matte “Cocoa Bear” for a great look.
I also want to mention, when I saw this shade the wheels in my head started spinning and I thought, “I wonder if that would be a good contour or bronzer shade.” So I grabbed the Luxie contour brush (that came in the box) and played around with the shade on my face. I’m glad I did. I found that the color is a bit two warm for me as a contour, but used sparingly and blended well, it was a great little bronzer. Score! I love a makeup product that pulls double duty!
The next sweet treat: Catherine Malandrino Style De Paris Perfume.
I can be very picky when it comes to perfume. I like trying them all out, but I usually only really like a few. I really like this scent.
The description says the perfume has notes of grapefruit and pear, with orange blossom and gardenia. With mid notes of violet and ocean breeze and a base layer of patchouli.
I’m a fan! And I love the packaging and size. It will last me through the spring and I can throw it in my purse and spritz away during the day without having to worry about the bottle breaking or leaking. Love.
On to the Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Pencil
When I read that the shade was taupe, I was a bit bummed and I figured this eyebrow pencil wasn’t going to work on my dark eyebrows. I assumed I would have to pass this one along to a friend, but I was wrong. I am amazed at how well this taupe color works on my dark brown eyebrows. This pencil has a very fine point and fills in my brows perfectly. It gives a defined, yet very natural look. I love when I can wear makeup and no one knows I’m wearing it. Shhh…I won’t tell if you don’t.
The pink treat in the bunch is: The Luxie Beauty 512 Small Contour Brush
This brush is a winner for me. I love every feature. It’s pink. It’s well made and sturdy. It has soft and dense bristles. It feels wonderful on my skin, and the size and shape are great for contouring and applying bronzer.
Last, but not least is: Clark’s Botanicals Anti-Puff Eye Cream
Did I mention I have four kids? FOUR! Oh and they’re all six and under. So, you can imagine the kind of puffy eye situation I’m up against. Not to mention the dark circles that assault my face on the regular. I just started using this product, and I feel that I need to use it a bit more before I give my conclusion on whether it works well for me or not, but I will say that I loved the texture and how easily it applies with the lightest touch, and I like what I’ve seen already. I think this is going to be a great product for me.
I am absolutely thrilled with my March Boxycharm box! I am so glad I signed up and I really am excited at the value of this deal. If you’re a girl after my own heart and love value for your beauty buying dollars, I think you’ll love Boxycharm.
I have used and will continue to use all of the products I received. I also discovered some new brands and products that I will be purchasing again in the future. It’s hard to ask more from a beauty box subscription.
So, for $21 a month (free shipping) you will receive a Boxycharm box in your mailbox filled with about 4 or 5 full sized products that are usually worth over $100 in value. You will also be a part of the “Charmers” community and you can earn charms towards real dollars to spend on beauty products on the Boxycharm website. One way to earn charms is by reviewing of the products in your box and you can even enter contests for free giveaways.
